Strategic positioning |
| Varioptic liquid lens solutions offer many opportunities for product innovation in the field of imaging particularly suited to the sectors of endoscopy, imaging by confocal microscopy, laser beam focus, security, control on tumours? Ophthalmology can also benefit from our emerging concept of adaptive liquid optics.
Biometry and identification |
With its response time of 2/100 s, the variation rate of the liquid lens presents a major advantage for character reading, 1D or 2D bar codes, or other biometrical identification elements such as iris and fingerprint recognition. |
Automotive |
The auto focus capabilities of our lenses offer new economical solutions for telemetry applications or surveillance systems.
Varioptic has developed the following products for industrial applications:
Liquid Lenses |
Arctic 320 |
Since its launch in January 2006, the ARCTIC 320 has been designed in many applications,
and is especially suitable for environments, such as:
- Communications: web cams, video conferencing, and integrated PC/laptop cameras
- Healthcare: medical and dental imaging
- Industry: barcode imagers and industrial endoscopes
- Security: indoor video surveillance and biometrics
- Entertainment: digital still cameras, camcorders and gaming applications. |

Drivers |
DrivIC 60 |
The DrivIC 60 Series provides developers and integrators with a set of driver solutions for the
ARCTIC Series of variable focus lenses.
The DrivIC 60 LL3 solution is based on a
step-up converter from Durel
(www.durel.com), which is tuneable
through an adjustable pin. Its H-bridge
output can drive Varioptics ARCTIC
liquid lenses by supplying up to 60VRMS
into a capacitive load of 500pF maximum.
The DrivIC 60 LL3 uses an external
inductor and capacitor as part of the boost
power supply. It can be shut down to
conserve power in battery operation.
