Varioptic and Creative Sensor Inc. signed a production deal in August 2006 to build the first mass production line for liquid lenses. This production line is installed in Creative Sensor’s manufacturing site in Nanchang, China, and began operation in December 2006. Production quantities in Nanchang include Varioptic’s liquid lenses for use in webcams, barcode readers, machine vision and medical equipment. http://www.csi-sensor.com.tw |

Maxim and Varioptic to supply next generation low voltage Auto focus liquid lens solutions. The new Max14515 driver IC has been specifically designed for Variotpic new range of low voltage, low cost auto-focus ARCTIC 314 liquid lenses. The MAX14515 42V liquid lens driver features a high-voltage differential output controlled through an I²C interface. The MAX14515 uses a charge-pump-based boost converter and integrated H-bridge to provide a compact lens driver solution with minimal external components to achieve a small overall footprint suitable for small space constraints inside camera modules.
