The Lens is more than a better mousetrap; it is a better solution to a ubiquitous, mass market problem focusing light. It has the potential to replace glass or plastic lenses in cameras, endoscopes, optical networking equipment, telemetry devices, military optics, and many other markets.
For some applications, the Lens is cheaper or simpler to manufacture than current solutions. For others, its superior characteristics make it a better solution regardless of cost. For specific applications, (e.g. confocal endoscopy), the lenses’ special characteristics will make an optical solution feasible for the first time.
