Sunny Optics launches 3MPixel Autofocus Camera Module with Varioptic Liquid Lens Zhejiang (China) and Lyon (France), 5th February 2008 – Sunny Optics and Varioptic announce today the launch of a second liquid lens auto focus camera module – CCM-8312B. Sunny’s CCM-8312B uses Omnivision OV3640 3 megapixel sensor coupled with Sunny’s optics and Varioptic’s Arctic liquid lens. At 8.5 x 8.5 x 6.7 mm, the camera module is one of the smallest 3MP AF camera modules in the market. The new CCM-8312B offers superior image quality and is ideally suited for slim camera phones. Varioptic’s Arctic liquid lens is ideal for the latest camera phone applications such as video with continuous auto-focus. The increasing trend of video capture and video sharing through the internet means that autofocus is fast becoming a must-have for capturing good quality video. This requires fast response time, low power consumption and high reliability. With no moving parts, Varioptic’s liquid lens delivers all these requirements.
