Sunny Optics and Varioptic announce today the launch of a liquid lens auto focus camera module – AFCM OV290.
Sunny’s AFCM OV290 uses Omnivision OV2640 2 megapixel sensor coupled with Sunny’s optics and Varioptic’s Arctic 416 liquid lens. At 9 x 9 x 7.1 mm, the camera module is one of the smallest 2MP AF camera modules in the market. The AFCM OV290 offers superior image quality and is ideally suited for slim camera phone.
Varioptic’s Arctic 416 is designed to fit low footprint camera modules, particularly suitable to meet the current consumer trend towards slim line camera phones. Arctic 416 lenses are manufactured for Varioptic in Wuxi (China) by Creative Sensor Inc. Varioptic’s liquid lens has no moving parts and features some crucial commercial advantages over traditional technologies in terms of cost, size, robustness, power consumption and speed.
