• Liquid Lens Developer Kits

    Introduction

Varioptic’s liquid lens technology is a breakthrough in the possibilities for designing small aperture lens systems allowing variable focus with absolutely no moving parts.
Varioptic’s Developer Kits aim at supporting integrators from evaluation to design cycle, all the way through ramp to volume production.

    Main Products

    Liquid Lens – ARCTIC Series

    ARCTIC
    316
The ARCTIC 316 Series liquid lens is dedicated to applications requiring fast response time and high optical power. It is especially suited to industrial applications.
    ARCTIC
    314 V2
Varioptic’s ARCTIC 314 has been especially designed to fit applications where size is critical. It has a reduced height compared to Arctic 316, and its reduced voltage (42V) allows using the Maxim driver, which is smaller and has a reduced number of external components.

Liquid Lens Driver – DrivBoard Series

    DrivBoard
    60 LL3
    PWM / I²C
Driver Mini-Board, based on Rogers / Durel driver.Complete reference design, available with either PWM or I²C control interface
    DrivBoard
    60 HV
Driver Mini-Board, based on Supertex driver.
    DrivBoard
    42
Driver Mini-Board, based on Maxim driver – For Arctic 314 V2 only.

    Development Support Products

    Lens Holders – VHD Series

VHD-002 Lens Holder designed to connect a Liquid Lens to the VPS-048 power supply. This allows you to evaluate the liquid lens added to your own fixed optics. Fits both ARCTIC 416 and ARCTIC 314.

    Power Supplies – VPS Series

VPS-048 VPS-048 is used to deliver the right output voltage to the lens. It can be driven automatically (by an application running on a PC for instance), or manually (in a standalone mode)

    Product Kits

For an evaluation of the technology: The Liquid Lens Evaluation Kits These kits are designed to allow for a quick integration of the Liquid Lens into any application. This is achieved by simply placing the lens (either temporarily or permanently) in front of an imaging system; and manually driving the level of voltage through the provided power supply, thus changing the focus (alternatively, the power supply can also be application-driven through a specific API).
