Single chip solution for high volume, space-constrained applications To support integration of the liquid lens product range, and thus shorten time to market, Varioptic and its Partners provide low bill of material reference designs, optimized for high volume, space constrained, low power applications.
Max14515
The MAX14515 low-voltage liquid lens driver has been designed for miniature Auto focus Camera Modules. The liquid lens driver features a high-voltage differential output controlled through an I²C interface. It is well suited for the new range of low voltage, low cost auto-focus ARCTIC 314 liquid lenses. For more information, click here http://www.maxim-ic.com/liquid-lens-driver
Supertex (Sunnyvale, Calif.) and Varioptic have developed a complete low footprint liquid lens and driver solution, HV895, to add auto-focus capability in cell phones and PDA cameras, barcode readers and laptop cameras, biometric scanners and ultra compact cameras.
The DrivIC 60 Series provides developers and integrators with a set of driver solutions for the ARCTIC Series of variable focus lenses.
The DrivIC 60 LL3 solution is based on a step-up converter from Durel (www.durel.com), which is tuneable through an adjustable pin. Its H-bridge output can drive Varioptic’s ARCTIC liquid lenses by supplying up to 60VRMS into a capacitive load of 500pF maximum. The DrivIC 60 LL3 uses an external inductor and capacitor as part of the boost power supply. It can be shut down to conserve power in battery operation.
